Thread: Mice and Mystics:: General:: Anyone good at 3d sculpting?

So i'm a little bit neurotic when it comes to minis, and I just don't like that some of the named villains have to be represented by a token. Over on shapeways I came upon a GREAT Vurst model, as well as some Elite Rats and a few other things. I would LOVE it if someone could do minis for Pheasia the Fearies queen, Lutz, Shalop! Some of the mice citizens and other figures from tail feathers would be great also! Here are some images and conversions, but it would be great to be able to just 3d print them for those of us less talented. So if you have some experience, PLEASE help us!

You only have an encounter the very first time you explore onto a tile. Not if you revisit it later (for whatever reason).

Keep in mind though that when the last mouse (on the initative track) ends their turn on that tile, a cheese will be added to the wheel as there are no minions present.
If this cheese triggers a surge, it will spawn a surge minion (if there is a face-up card or a special surge).

Perfect! That's how I played it. When playing games like this, I usually try to work out the most thematic solution. And doing it that way made the most sense. I already cleared the room so I played it as such.

For my first game I was impressed at how quickly I was able to complete chapter 1. I had minimal questions while playing but most answers were found easily enough in the rule book.

The biggest problem rule-wise with Chapter 1 is how to navigate through the water, because everyone plays it wrong.

How so?

Watch the M&M TableTop episode when they get to the water. That's how.

Lol, will do. He gets a lot of things wrong on that show. I watch it for entertainment, not to get the rules and gameplay right. I watched the fortune and glory episode and he butchered the game. It's bad.

I had to double-take at this post; I literally thought I was the one speaking. :D This is exactly what I've been trying to do for an entire year. All of my current minis are at a paint commission and I am discussing with the artist on how we can do some of these sculpts. Of course, it is expensive since I am paying for the sculpts, the conversions, and the paint job; but it is quite worth it, and it is great that all of my other M&M minis are getting painted at the same time.

IIRC, the rate of a good pro miniature sculptor (3D or traditionnal) is 500€/day on average. And a miniature can take a few days to sculpt, weeks for the most complex & large pieces.
The issue is not finding someone good (though the good pros have a full schedule already). It's finding someone good, that has time to do it, and is willing to do it for basically nothing (regarding models on Shapeways or another online printing service, the markup a designer gets -if any- doesn't even begin to cover a fraction of the workload. Only a handful of designers eke up a living with online 3D printed stuff).

I got the same one, I really like it! A little hard to assemble (not too hard but Ive assembled Broken Token inserts and its slightly harder than that) but I do like how themed it is. Theres neat wood carvings where everything needs to go and I appreciate that (and it looks super cool haha)

Thanks for the review, Great to hear. I saw the dice tower looked like cheese. I’m excited to get it home!

First I want to say that I absolutely love this game. I'm in the middle of playing as a campaign. About to start chapter 6 later on today. I was looking for some advice for Lily and maginos. I don't get them into my party enough and I really want to. I love to switch the party around a lot so as not to get a stale experience. I just can't do well when those two are in my party due to the range hit odds. They have some amazing abilities but I've had too many turns with them that felt wasted because they didn't do anything productive.

So some advice or tips on what to use with them or how to best use them would be much appreciated.

Use them to kite minions, as in shoot, step back out of range, shoot again.

Both need cheese and good abilities, you will find it hard to level them if you never play them so they take time to develop.

Both need better equipment than they start with IMO. Get enchanted or accurate bow for lily.
Get scorching wand, lucky skullcap or that other staff for maginos.
Lily does better with enchanted bow and Aimed shot or power shot

Mags is a beast with skullcap and mystic bolt or scorching/skullcap double.

Enchanted bow for Lily and you have “Machine gun Lily” as she keeps rolling stars and clears a room by herself.

For Mags just horde cheese until you walk into a crowded room and blow everyone away with Chain Lightning.
