Not sure what else you could have done then Patrick. Short of having some kind of item card that allows for an easy way across, it's just a matter of the roll of the dice sometimes. And on this tile, there isn't much wiggle room for missing climbing attempts. But, at the end of the day, this is a co-op game and if you won each chapter handily, then it wouldn't be much of a challenge and the replayability would be lessened. :)

That's exactly what I told my daughter, who was feeling some frustration after this defeat.
We play a fairly leniant version of campaign rules, where if we're defeated we try again with all of the same equipment we had at the start of the chapter, and any items we found during the failed attempt (discarding down to one search card per mouse as necessary). We also keep any gained abilities from the failed attempt.
So for our second attempt, someone in Collin's party will have the Levitate scroll.

5. If more minions of the same type as what is on the board, enter in a surge in the middle of the minions' turn, do they act immediately or do they wait until the next turn for minions?
5. I'd rule the act immediately. Not totally sure, though.
I believe this is incorrect - the surge just puts new minions on the tile, it doesn't give them an immediate move. They don't move until their turn comes up on the initiative track.
Also, regarding your question #8, the real rule is to add a cheese in that situation because it's the end of the last mouse's turn and there are no minions on the tile. However, it is a very common house rule to not put a cheese on the wheel if the last minion was killed during that same turn. I find this makes the game much more fun.

I believe Boss Minions would be the characters that form part of the story. Not your regular minions that appear on encounter cards.
I would think
Brodie
Vanestra
Vurst
Skitter-clat probably not, but maybe.

I am running these guys in the team tournament at Adepticon, so need to finish up their friends to be ready for that event.
Used some sticky tack to figure out which banner would be best.

Only the card that is showing, so she will go twice each round.↧
Thread: Mice and Mystics:: Rules:: 2 new questions. Abilities with two icons and fish/hook
by shadow9d9
1. If an ability like the Set Traps has something saying sword/shield/star gives 2 towards the outcome, I first thought it meant sword/shields as well as stars would count. Going back to play today, I realized that they might just be referring to the one die side that has all 3 together. Is this correct?2. To drop the fish and hook, it takes no action. To pick it up, you have to use an action, so you cannot attack for example. Is this correct?
Thanks!

1. The card for Set Trap was an error and there is correction that it should be any * to trigger that ability. But for other cards where it shows a specific die face, it means ONLY the die face shown (so a 1 in 6 chance of triggering).2. Yes, you've got it.

If you read the rulebook on page 18, it is clear that you do not need to roll for the fishhook and thread. It says mice can move between the spaces "as if they were normal adjacent spaces".
That only refers to the rule about adjacent spaces; if the base of the figure can bridge a gap, spaces are considered adjacent. Of cource the gap is way too big when using fishhook and thread and therefore the spaces are not adjacent and under normal circumstances impassable. Fishhook and thread ovverrides that rule though and says you can consider the to spaces to be adjacent. It does not say that you do not need to roll, it says that you can use normal movement to move between either end of the fishhook, and normal movement do involve rolling dice!
Of course, if I understand the rules correctly, there is no need to roll dice as you have to end your movement at the other end of the fishhook anyway.

I know that for line of sight, it is supposed to be up to the players, but I was wondering what you guys think. Can the mice shoot the roaches on the counter from the ground?↧

As I recall, we've played that you can't.↧

The rules state that it's up to players to decide if certain board features will block line of sight for ranged characters. There's nothing written that prevents mice from shooting up onto the kitchen table. When we play, we allow shots up there, but if you want to disallow it, you may.↧

Thanks. Few more questions.1. For Brodie's pounce, you roll his regular attack of 3, right? The manual says to roll his initiative.
2. Do the mice pick up the cheese on the counter that hasn't been eaten?
3. If maggie swats a mouse, does the roach killed still die?
