Wouldn't that deny the defender a chance to get a piece of Cheese?↧

Yes it does, but it also stops the minions filling up the cheese wheel, so you win some you lose some.

Hmm... we've always rolled both attack and defense regardless...
It, depending on luck of rolls, could be a significant difference in the amount of surges...

Just to belt & braces it, this from the FAQ (p3):Do minions roll for defense to try and get cheese even if there were no hits inflicted?
No. If there were no hits, then the defender does not have to roll defense.

The rules say you roll "if" there's a hit. And the FAQ says "no".I don't think the "have to" gives a choice, in those circumstances.

Its pretty clear. No damage, no hit, no roll. Seems like an odd game to rules lawyer for an extra cheese or two...↧

Also don't spend it on every attack or ability every turn. Its usually worth more in your pack than the extra die or extra attack you get from it.↧
Thread: Mice and Mystics:: Strategy:: Chapter 2: Luck or skill required?
by rashktah
Hi!My group and I tried to beat chapter 2 today and failed twice because Lily got captured even before our heroic mice were able to even try to rescue her.
We hurried over to her tile as fast as we could, we did not even stop to search or heal. All we did was to dispatch of the given minions as fast as possible and hurry over to Lily.
Both times Lily had to kill the one Cockroach that's placed with her and later a Rat Warrior, but then it came down to pure luck of the dice rolls and in both attemted tries Lily wasn't able to dispatch of her enemies and got captured because they were able to place some well-timed hits on her while she seemed unable to evade most of the damage (and the escape trick she has at the start of the game is only usuable once).
So is this chapter beatable without much luck on Lilys' dice rolls or is there some hidden strategy that we were just not able to uncover?

Thread: Mice and Mystics:: Rules:: What does blunt attack mean? (maginos staff, for example)
by dagny21
Maginos' staff says "When attacking a figure that is on the same space as this mouse, this staff is considered a blunt melee weapon.I understand that it acts as a melee weapon instead of ranged when your in the same space.
But what difference does blunt make?

I think there are (or perhaps there will be) some minions that are immune to some sorts of damage, say blunt or sharp weapons. Or they just take fewer damage from them.↧

I found chapter 2 was easiest when lily could hold her own and kill some roaches. She cant just sit there and take a beating you will need to have some luck of her bow hitting sometimes.↧
