Based on Colby's post dealing with issues I'm not surprised the people sending them out simply sent them. I'm guessing one person would have the task of sending them out, and if they are doing hundreds of them knowing it might arrive within the next 1-2 days, there's little point in giving people a head's up. Somebody could read their e-mail saying it is shipped while they are holding the box it came in. :)
I'm not that bent either way, but shipping notices should pretty much always go out. All the major shipping companies are pretty good about making it easy.
I'm in central Texas so maybe it will be here soon. :)
