Maybe it's the difference between playing as Nez/Colin (warrior types) which she prefers to Maginos/Tilda (support classes) which I prefer.
Well there's the root of your cheese problem right there...sounds you haven't been playing with Filch! ;) In our games he's usually the one who gets the most cheese, needs the least healing, and uses the most abilities (other than Tilda's healing).
Hehe yeah actually this has been my experience too. He is really a cheese-grabber :) He is also really good to have along to stop the cheese wheel from progressing to quickly
First chance to level up Filch grab First Aid and then search until you find a ranged weapon for him (he can keep the dagger in his tail).
This is a powerhouse combo - keeps cheese off the wheel and his movement allows him to get objectives out of the way fast. [We don't use Tilda regularly, so the first aid was a must... plus he can motor around the board an heal in a pinch.]
OSG
Well, we tend to semi-roleplay rather than min-max and I am sure Filch would scoff at the idea of being an arrow flinging good-doer :D
Sorry for stealing the focus from your review Jon btw. I guess the game is not for everyone, at least you have to find dungeon crawling a little exciting and be able to immerse yourself into the universe. Otherwise I could see the mechanics of the game itself being sometimes quite random and frustrating.
