Yes, you can make your own by diluting paint with water. Pre-made ink washes are great but sometimes they are too concentrated (for my liking anyway).
Remember, you can always drop the minis in a Simple Green or Pine-Sol bath for 24 hours to strip the paint and start over. Don't be afraid to do this. My first time painting minis I think I started over three or four times before I was happy with my work. Patience is the key, Padawan. ;)

Don't strip them over too much wash. Give another layer of your brown right over the top of the wash. Leave the wash in the crevices and you're good to go. Wash stain is easy to paint over.
